PERSONAL INFORMATION
FAMILY LIFE:
I am married to my husband, Keith, of 10 years, who is a Paramedic. We have two beautiful children, a son, Kristian, who is 6, and a daughter, Anika, who is 4. We reside in Carpentersville, so our children attend D300 schools, and we are very invested in our community and School District #300.
PERSONAL BACKGROUND:
I was born and raised in Algonquin, and my husband and I have decided to raise our own children in this community and within D300's boundaries. I am a product of School District#300, as I attended Eastview Elementary School, Algonquin Middle School, and Jacobs High School (Class of 1992). I am proud of the education I received through District 300, love our community, and absolutely love my job. I have two older sisters who also live in Algonquin, and my parents have lived here for over 40 years, since immigrating from Denmark. My father was 18 and my mother was 21 when they came through Ellis Island to build a new life in "the Land of Opportunity." Both having only a 7th grade education, my parents always stressed the importance of hard work, integrity, honesty, and last but not least, the importance of getting an education.
